One of the better ways to clean/wash sweaters and prevent them from pilling we learned from reading Martha's books. To preserve your heavier sweaters as the weather warms up, clean them properly by following a specific set of steps as demonstrated by Martha Stewart (below).
Cleaning your garments before placing them in storage prevents bugs from wanting to eat them, and will make it easier for you to find something to clean to when entering the colder seasons.
